Car Computer (ECU) Maintenance
A 2-month, 30-hour course in car computer maintenance that combines hardware (automotive electrics, sensors, the engine ECU, the CAN Bus network, and airbag and ABS systems) with software (memory chips, programming tools and car computer software).
What you'll learn
Part 1: Hardware
- Automotive electrics: Fault diagnosis with Bosch software, electrical connections, wiring harnesses and connectors, fuses and relays
- Sensors and how to test them: Crankshaft and camshaft position, temperature, MAP, oxygen, knock and air mass sensors
- Automotive electronics maintenance (the engine computer, ECU)
- How vehicle components connect to the car computer, and removing and installing electronic parts
- The CAN Bus communication network and how it works
- Maintaining the airbag and ABS systems
- Electrical insulation testing (isolation test)
Part 2: Software
- Types of memory chips: Flash, EPROM, CPU
- Introduction to specialized programming tools, and memory chip programming
- Car computer software: AirBag Crash Data, Immobilizer System, Radio, Instrument Cluster
Certification
- Certificate accredited by the American Board
- Attested by the Jordanian Professions Syndicate
- Attested by the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Attestation by the U.S. Embassy (optional)
